ProCo

RAT

The ProCo RAT appeared in 1978 and, alongside the Big Muff and the Tube Screamer, is the third pedal an entire school of sound goes back to. Its signature is the Filter knob, which works the other way round from an ordinary tone control: wide open it is dark, and turning it down makes it sharper. The line consists of the standard version plus versions with more low end, more distortion or a smaller enclosure.
