Catalinbread overdrive
A large part of Catalinbread's range consists of 'Foundation' overdrives: each pedal recreates the preamp circuit of one specific tube amplifier, from small practice amps (Formula 51) to the Marshall/Hiwatt sound of the Royal Albert Hall and the Ampeg inspiration behind the SFT. Other lines are boutique treble boosters based on the Rangemaster or Hornby-Skewes circuit (Naga Viper, Skewer, Galileo) and console or tape preamps that emulate a studio device rather than an amplifier (Airstrip, Crooner, Dreamcoat). The Dirty Little Secret family follows a Dumble-style circuit and comes in a red, an MKIII and a wider Deluxe version, with the Clean Little Secret as a low-gain counterpart based on the Bluesbreaker. The Epoch Boost and Epoch Bias are both an Echoplex EP-3 preamp, with the Bias adding an extra control on top.
