DigiTech has been making digital effects in Salt Lake City since the 1980s. The Whammy from 1989 is the pedal the brand is known for: a treadle that pulls the pitch up or down while you play, as far as two octaves. The Drop does the same thing without a treadle, as a fixed downshift for players who would rather not retune the guitar.
